Yay movie!

fadagaskiWent to see The Eagle in cinema, because I support the British film industry (and also, I wanted to find out the Gaelic translations at last). The UK version is a slightly longer cut than whatever Kazakh copy I have; no extra scenes, but the odd added shot of people dying. Nothing to get too hyped about.
Can I just say? Jamie Bell is made of complete and utter win. Esca's character is so incredible, and Jamie plays him so well (this isn't fangirling (much) as Channing is definitely more my type). From defiance in the ring, to bewildered acceptance of his continued existence, to "I hate everything you stand for", to *worried face* Marcus is in lots of pain, to *nurses Marcus back to health*, to chumming around the villa, to "OMG UR DADDY KNEW MY DADDY!", to "Rome also did that", to the fight and the rogue warrior boy and the betrayal when Marcus kills him, to "Ask him again" "No", to UR HONOUR R BELONG TO ME, to "Boy, tell your daddy I'm sorry I have to leave now" (which, hello, slash patrol?), to ... well I could go on, but this sentence has spat on every grammatical law possible.
Total wash-out for fic writing today, but definitely worth it to see that film on the big screen. :D
ETA: I don't know what is up with Jamie's accent. No one I know from Billingham sounds like that. I get that he might be trying to hide the accent a bit (why? The Brigantes were ... almost from that area!) but - sometimes he sounds Scottish! And sometimes American! Am confused. :/

Date: 2011-04-02 11:27 pm (UTC)Oh my god! I can't agree more! I love me Channing and Jamie - but I want Esca from him and Marcus. My friend is going to take Marcus - but I think we would have to share them with each other, as they are totally involved. Teehee.
