Have lost 12lbs in 5 weeks, so am obviously quite chuffed. Not very many slip-ups on the way either, which is very encouraging. Haven't had a bite of chocolate or a packet of crisps in weeks. I find I don't even miss crap food.

Running today was ... strenuous. It was Week 4 Day 1, which involves 5 minutes of running at the very start. I've been wearing heavy work shoes all weekend, on my feet at the pub for 7+ hours on Saturday and Sunday. I could definitely feel the strain of it in my muscles this morning. I'm confident I can run a full 4 minutes on the flat by the end of week. Then I'll just repeat the week again and hey presto, I'll be doing 5 minutes up the hill no problem!

Some people shouldn't have animals. There's a family in Brandon who own a field and about 15 horses where I run. The horses are half-wild, never brushed, living off grass. Not abused, or even really neglected. But today I had to herd one back into the field, then block a hole with wire and bits of string. I mean, Jesus, if that pony had spooked and run into traffic ... It doesn't bear thinking about.

Watching The King's Speech again. Such a fantastic movie. It deserves every award for which it's eligible.

I will but it doesn't feel right to watch it yet.

I'm weird.

No, I get it. I've still only seen Season 1 of Merlin and Seasons 1-3 of Supernatural. Can't bring myself to watch the rest.

The fifth season finale was... not awful. But the only way I can like it is by thinking of it as a series finale.

And if you ever pktan to watch Merlin again let me know so I can tell you which eps to skip.

Oh. That bad huh?

I don't know if I'll ever catch up with Merlin. Were there some really bad ones?

Big spoilers

YMMV of course. I liked Morgana's journey into evil in series two while most of the fandom didn't. I hated her in series three though. The Arthur/Gwen episodes were boring and didn't make much sense, the Gaius-centric eps were boring as fuck as well as pointless and the lack of magic reveal pisses me off like you wouldn't believe.

There are some great stuff thoug! Morgause is badass and awesome, Cenred is hot, the Slash Dragon is a bitch and Gwaine is pure love.

The next parragraph's really spoilery, be warned.

The scene in which Merlin poisons Morgana is one of the best things I've seen. Arthur finds out about his birth and tries to kill Uther (and then they hit the reset button on that one). We see Ygraine and Merlin's dad, the round table, the Lady of the Lake and Excalibur and Gwaind. Just Gwaine.

Woo, well done!! I've lost 13lbs in about 5 weeks (I don't remember exactly when I started but it was around the first week in January) - doesn't it feel fantastic! I had someone who didn't know I was dieting stop me today to ask if I'd lost weight. I can't really see it yet, but she said it was obvious and looking good, was lovely to hear.

I am so impressed with your running. I can't run for toffee. I'm starting a 200-situps and 200-squats in 6 weeks program though, just to ensure I do *something*. Hopefully I can get to zumba/bodyjam classes once a week and use the wii dance fitness thing occasionally, but that's proving difficult lol. I am so cheering you on, your diet and running is obviously ace :D

Wooo! Just shy of a stone, congrats! It's probably the best test, meeting someone you haven't seen in a while. I can't wait until I'm 3 stone lighter and go to visit my dad in the summer. Hehehe!

OMG I couldn't do situps and squats. Are you mad? I would just about die. Running is quite fun. It's supposed to be a 9 week program but I'm going to have to extend it because running for 5 minutes straight is hard!

I feel kind of bad for counting the pounds so religiously. It seems very anti-feminist. But then I have to remember that I'm doing this for my health, not to fit with a patriarchal definition of 'beautiful/normal'. Life hard.

Woo! Just over now, am so chuffed. :D

Haha, yeah, doing that will be awesome - I've not told my Dad and his wife I'm dieting (though my sister might have), so will be super interested in their reaction!

It's not that hard actually, as it's all reps anyway. I just can't run at all, so I feel the same way about a c25K program!

I don't think of it as anti-feminist, but I do know what you mean about doing it so religiously. I'm definitely doing it for health, but I'm also looking forward to being thinner! Not for boys though, just for me :D

Well done on diet!! I suck at both diet and exercise and am slowly getting fatter and fatter :(

And you would not BELIEVE the shit I see supposedly intelligent horsepeople try and fence their horses in with. Pallets, lawn chairs, washing line. Once I even saw that yellow tape, you know like the crime scene tape? It's not very strong, just like polythene shopping bags. At least forty feet of field fenced with that, and about ten horses in it. Ugh.

At least you do horse riding! That's good exercise! :)

How can fencing be so difficult for people to grasp? Solid fence = less dead pony. It's a simple equation.
