Social Working NaNo or something

This kind of news story is exactly why I want to go into Social Work, even though I'm not sure I could handle working the abuse cases. When you think that a 17 month old baby is dead because of the inadequacies of the system and some truly fucked human beings, it makes everything else in my life seem a little bit pointless.

But in more cheerful news, I'm restarting NaNo. shei has given me fantastic ideas about nympho blind nuns, so that's what I'm going with. I can do it! I'm only 16,667 words behind. Heh.

Anyway, yeah. Articles like the one you posted make me wonder whether I could ever stomach being a journalist. Right now, I keep thinking I'm not cut out for the COURSE let alone the actual career.

If it weren't for journalists, that typical story about the failure of government would never have reached the public. All journalists (except paparazzi) provide a worthwhile service.
